for the second bad barbie records vinyl release of 2016 we are more than exited to bring you the magnificent work from the bla bla music owner daniel sanchez with his impromptu ep. here we have four amazing pieces where each one tells a different history. the first one pearled into droplets saw the light after a great live jam and the result is combination of several layers of base elements with subtle minimalistic articulations. these, in combination of the bass and synths lines do create a truly amazing micro house piece. the second one vague, is an atmospheric dub were a single synth chord raises in slowly, followed by a very subtle kick and bass line to set a bit of rhythm to the whole thing, creating a superb dreamy vibe while the chords do their thing with delicate reverbs and delays in the backend. a great musical piece indeed. for the third track we have yi, again another amazing micro house jewel born from a live jam, but this one is even more energetic than the first one and it also includes, besides a rocking bass line, analog synth chords that lifts up the mood during specific moments, which also do their part articulating themselves perfectly with some occasional twisted vocals that helps create an amazing party vibe from beginning to end. and if this wasn t enough we also have bedroom stories vocal tool that daniel included with his delivery, which can help spice up a dj set with ease.

dave aju has been a black catalogue homie from nearly the beginning and we are excited to have him on board with this fantastic, wide-ranging ep of underground house bombs. all three tracks invoke underground soul/rnb and house a la detroit legend moodymann, but with that trademark aju twist

nycs legendary sam records dropped the mysteriously named k.i.d.s dont stop- in 1981. it has it all trancey arpeggios, vocoders & vocals trading off with each other, brass & some heavyweight disco drums that helped propel it forth into the hallowed category of club classic. the record perfectly suited the open minds and open ears of discerning disc jocks in locales such as new york and chicago where this sublime piece of electronic disco sleaze would get plenty burn on the city s infamous wbmx thus having a huge impact, along with a whole host of other similar records, on the burgeoning house scene that was germinating in the fertile mid western soil. b-side cut do it again is a pleasant enough early 80 s disco jam, but compared to the futuristic burner that is dont stop on the other side theres one clear winner. a must have for all cosmic, disco, funk aficionados. now made available again, legitimately licensed, remastered and reissued in conjunction with sam records new york city.

son of sound aka henry maldonado has been producing influential house music dating back right back to 1991. he has released on strictly rhythm as house 2 house, maxi records as deja vu and maw records as rhythm section. son of sound has recently appeared on tirk and local talk before dropping the bomb that is jewel eye nights on jus ed s underground quality. he also has releases scheduled for later in the year on razor n tape and city fly. currently working on a collaboration ep with recloose for his own district 30 label. henry is also host of the highly regarded hit it and quit it radio show on the lot and east village radio with recloose and private panther.

april showers bring may flowers, but this april claude vonstroke brings you the rain break. inspired by two different songs from the 80s - (razes classic break for love and oran juice jones the rain), claude has replayed and re-sung all the music from scratch to make a special cover tune of both tracks changed and combined into a surefire dirtybird classic. to quote vonstroke, i kept singing the break for love bassline over and over again in my head but the vocal that always popped in over the top was from the oran juice jones. i cant explain why that happened but i just thought they went together so well that i ran with it.here comes the b is a much weirder affair. built with massive psychedelic effects, a huge kick and almost no hi-hat pattern, this is late night cavemen music at its best. this big release from cvs will have you wishing for a downpour so you can go walking in the rain.

what can be said about dance mania? simply put, some of the rawest, most jacking house music ever committed to wax has come out on the chicago label. work it! from 1994, courtesy of the mighty parris mitchell & rj hall is slamming, an update of steve poindexter s classic work that m..therfucker but done dance mania style! heavyweight stuff. pair this with its alright on the flip, which takes a deeper turn and you ve got am essential 12inch dug deep from within the vaults. this one is rare too! now it s here again, remastered and reissued with the full consent of mr.mitchell too, what s messing with that? essential chicago business!

the delivered sampling of featured artists on louie vega starring, is one for the record books and a must for any music aficionado as louie explains, this body of work is a masterpiece that will be party of my legacy. i see it up there on the same high shelf with albums like nuyorican soul, elements of life, and masters at work.

andy hart returns after an almost two-year hiatus from the studio to release his first ep on the voyage imprint. following on from urulus greetings from namek, mistress in your mind is the sixth release and adds to a growing collection that already includes releases from harvey sutherland, m5k and ctepeo 57. mistress in your mind loosely stems from the intertwining influences of a love-induced delusion broken down over four tracks. hart draws sentiment from several aspects of his record collection, giving subtle nods to break beat, soul, acid and space-laden house.

when we signed bosq s tumbala featuring puerto rican legend tempo alomar on vocals last year we knew that it was a multi-cultural masterpiece. we also knew that giving it a boost for the club could take it to a whole other stratosphere. so we enlisted another one of our favorite multi culti producers, auntie flo to take it for a spin, and boy did he turn out a club jam!
